Vacation at "The Hula House"
Looking for a relaxing Hawaiian-style vacation without the airfare? Visit The Hula House, located in the quaint coastal town of Lewes, Delaware (which celebrated its 375th Birthday in 2006). The Hula House is located in a beachside village of Victorian-era homes and beach cottages. Available for weekly rentals year-round, and only steps (as in, walk out the door barefoot to the beach) to the white sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay.
Biking, hiking, fishing, crabbing, swimming, sunning...all your typical beach resort pleasures! Weekly rentals run Saturday through Saturday, with rates from $850-$1,000/week during the shoulder season, and $1,100 to $1,400/week during peak season. Our own dogs love a nice vacation too, and so our pet policy is: "Good dog allowed with prior approval."
The Hula House was built in 1906, and has three stories, with four bedrooms, two baths, wrap-around porch, fenced yard, huge kitchen, air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, formal dining room...all with vintage Polynesian decor and spirit. Great book library, two televisions with expanded cable, sterero, washer/dryer... all the amenities to help make you feel at home.
Walk to the Dairy Queen late at night for a yummy cone, dine on all-you-can-eat Blue Crabs nearby, stroll across the canal and into town for shopping on the upscale but quaint "Main Street." The pleasures in Lewes are endless.
1950's rattan dining table, with vintage Hawaiian art.
